For lessons in a big arena—or out on course
If your phone is on you, HelmetConnect routes a normal phone call through the device. That means the connection is not limited by Bluetooth distance in the arena; it is dependent on your phone connection, just like any other call. It is a brilliant set-up for jumping, cross-country schooling, large arenas and dressage lessons when you want a coach in your ear rather than shouting from the sidelines.
For virtual lessons with PIVO
If you train remotely, the PIVO pairing is where HelmetConnect becomes especially useful. Leave your phone on the PIVO at the arena side so your coach can follow the video, then ride with HelmetConnect connected up to 100 metres from the phone. Your coach can see your ride and speak to you directly—without you trying to hold a phone, wear a loose earbud or hover beside the fence.
For the rides in between
HelmetConnect can also be used for rider-to-rider calls, parent-to-child communication, group rides, Dressage to Music, music playlists and training apps. It is Siri compatible, and the triple-press function redials the last number called—useful for solo riders who want communication within reach while their hands stay on the reins.
The best part? It is removable. Use it to warm up or train, then take it out before you enter the competition arena or course.

Will it fit my riding helmet?
HelmetConnect fastens to the inside of most 3-point helmet harnesses with magnetic poppers. It is designed for the left ear but can be worn on the right if needed. The curve of the device sits in the curve of the helmet harness, and the chin strap helps hold it comfortably against the ear when fitted correctly.
Does it stay in place?
It is designed for riding movement and attaches to the harness rather than sitting loosely in the ear. It is light at approximately 43 g, and the external control panel keeps volume and call controls easy to reach.
How far does it work?
There are two useful setups. With the phone on the rider, HelmetConnect uses a standard phone call, so there is no Bluetooth range limit between rider and coach—the practical limit is mobile reception. With the phone positioned on a PIVO or at the arena side, HelmetConnect works up to 100 m away by Bluetooth.
Can I compete in it?
HelmetConnect is designed to remove easily before you enter the arena or course. That means you can train or warm up connected, then take it out when it is time to compete. Always check the rules of your particular discipline and event.
What about battery and charging?
The unit has up to 8 hours of battery life and recharges in around 3 hours. It is weather resistant and washable; remove the battery from the pouch before hand washing.
